Utopia Café x Lines & Colours

An Early Contract Project

Some projects test your ideas, and some projects quietly affirm why you started. Our contract project with Utopia Café was the latter.

Completed in December 2022, this project holds a special place in our journey. It was our second customer and an early opportunity to explore furniture designed for real, everyday use.

The brief was clear from the start: furniture that hadn’t been seen in restaurants around Cebu, and pieces that could withstand outdoor conditions without compromising on design.

Finding the Right Pieces

Outdoor furniture demands more than just good form; it needs to be resilient. For Utopia Café, we selected the Acha Outdoor Lounge Chair, Butenn Outdoor Dining Chair, and Wahie Rattan Chair, each chosen for its ability to balance durability with character.

These pieces were designed to live outdoors exposed to sun, rain, and constant movement, while still contributing to a space that feels intentional and welcoming.

Designing for Longevity

Utopia Café’s space called for furniture that could age well, both in function and in style. Our approach focused on selecting pieces that would hold up over time, without feeling overly familiar or expected within Cebu’s dining scene.

The result is a setting that feels relaxed yet distinct, where the furniture supports the experience without drawing attention away from it.

A Project We Look Back On

This project may have come early in our journey, but it helped define how we approach contract work today: thoughtful selection, practical design, and a clear understanding of how pieces are meant to be lived in.

Utopia Café remains a reminder that strong design doesn’t need to be loud; it just needs to last.
